Riverwood Forest Retreat

The Riverwood Forest Retreat – Pench offers visitors an escape into the visually stunning landscape of the Pench National Park. The beauty of this region has been immortalized in Rudyard Kipling’s classic – The Jungle Book. Located near the renowned Pench Tiger Reserve, the retreat opened in 2013 and is the third wildlife resort in the Waxpol Hotels and Resorts portfolio. It has been certified by TOFT as quality accommodation and awarded a 3-star classification by the Department of Tourism, Ministry of India. The resort was awarded the Best Eco-Friendly Hotel by Madhya Pradesh Tourism in 2017.

The jungle resort has played an important role in promoting sustainable wildlife tourism in the Pench region. We have implemented various eco-friendly processes such as rainwater harvesting, planting indigenous plant species in the surrounding barren land to make it into a haven for birds and insects, and using solar panels to harness solar energy, which in turn powers the water heaters and solar lights used at the retreat.
